An automated press brake solution with an Estun 7-axis robot for high-efficiency precision sheet metal bending.
This robotic CNC press brake cell was supplied to a large sheet metal fabrication factory in Peru, South America. The system was equipped with an Estun 7-axis robot with left-right traversing movement, an 80 kg sheet handling capacity, a 1200 mm working radius, pneumatic sensing devices on the press brake backgauge fingers, and a DA53TX CNC control system. When the robot is not used for bending, it can be moved to another working area for material handling or other auxiliary tasks.

Customer Requirement
The customer is a large sheet metal fabrication factory in Peru. They needed an automated bending solution for precision sheet metal parts, with higher productivity, more stable bending consistency, and less dependence on manual operation.
For their production, the customer required a robotic press brake system that could handle relatively heavy sheets, improve repeat positioning accuracy, reduce labor intensity, and support continuous bending work. Flexibility was also important, because the customer wanted the robot to be useful not only for bending, but also for material handling or other workshop tasks when it was not working with the press brake.
Recommended Solution
We recommended a robotic CNC press brake cell equipped with an Estun 7-axis robot and left-right traversing movement. The robot can handle sheets up to 80 kg and has a working radius of 1200 mm, making it suitable for automated bending of medium and large sheet metal parts.
The press brake was matched with a DA53TX CNC control system for accurate bending control. The backgauge fingers were equipped with pneumatic sensing devices to support safer and more reliable sheet positioning during robotic bending. The left-right moving design allows the robot to move away from the press brake area when it is not used for bending, so it can assist with material handling or other production tasks in the workshop.
